Senior 2017 Spring Model Shoot – Kempker’s Back 40

Its a bittersweet time of the year. The graduating class has closed the chapter on their high school career and launch off into the next portion of life. I am always a little sad, I get to look back at all the beautiful young men and women I have photographed over the past year and wish them well on their new journey. So many beautiful faces I am going to miss! I truly love photographing seniors, its such an exciting time of life that I get to share. These faces are the next doctors, engineers, and business men and women.

The best part of the spring, is working with a new graduating class! I officially introduce you to our 2017 senior model team! I have 16 beautiful ladies this year and I can’t wait to get to know each of them more. For our shoot this year, we decided to do rustic location. A friend recommended Kempker’s Back 40 and I am so happy to have found this little gem nestled back in the woods. Natural barns, a lake, grassy pastures, and the little creek were just a few of my favorites spots, but we could have spent an entire week finding new locations. For those looking for the perfect barn wedding location, this one is stunning! Tanya and her husband have done an amazing job creating this little slice of heaven on earth. They are so welcoming and warm, thanks for allowing us to photograph at your beautiful farm!

Michael & Meghan – Jefferson City, Missouri

I am so happy we have made it to the Spring months. Sessions have started to pick up again with the nice weather, and I get to work with my Fall wedding couples! Michael and Meghan met in law school at Mizzou. She had been eyeing him up and they finally connected while out on the town one evening. After graduation, they both started working in the Capitol City and will hold their wedding here this Fall. They are a seriously cute couple! Meghan is spunky and energetic, I think we should be BFF’s! Michael is kind and adores his future wife. The brought along their darling little pooch, Bella, for some family pictures.

We decided to start their engagement session at the Capitol since Meghan works there. After we toured around the property and downtown Jefferson City, we headed out to the river access. It is a spot I have been wanting to shoot at for a while. We walked some of the trails and found a rocky peninsula into the river to catch the glow of sunset. I enjoyed spending my Saturday evening with such an awesome couple! Can’t wait for October!

Hannah, 2014 Helias Senior

I am loving all these senior winter shoots! Don’t forget we have winter senior collections available for the months of January and February. Luckily, Hannah bundled up for her senior session. It was so cold! We had a beautiful sunny day, but that wind was a little chilly. We shot this session out at our home. Our acreage is wooded so there are many pretty spots after a snow. Hannah is a 2014 senior from Helias High School. She is so fun to photograph and such a sweet person. I am going to be so sad to see these girls graduate.

Thomas & Jennifer, St. Louis Missouri

These two just can’t help it…seriously a gorgeous couple! I met Thomas and Jennifer in St. Louis while they were home over the holidays. They live in London, therefore, traveling back to the states isn’t something they get to do very much with their busy work schedules. They are a darling couple; so sweet to each other. I love how laid back they are together. We met at Thomas’ parents home for their engagement pictures. When they are home, they spend a lot of time there so we decided to use this spot for their photo-shoot. His family was so kind to open their home .

It was a rather chilly day in December so Tom and Jennifer had to bundle up to stay warm! Luckily, they had a cup of joe to keep them warm. We ended the session in the family room reading a book and watching TV. Looking forward to their spring wedding in April!
