Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Bruns. I still feel full of happiness when I look back on Nathan and Jayna's wedding. Their wedding day was exciting and full of love. It brings me great joy to know that these two people found each other and will take care of each other for the rest of their lives. You probably remember them from their
engagement session.
When I spoke with Jayna the week before the wedding, there was a looming threat of storms for their day. Jayna sprung into action to find some indoor locations that had meaning to them. Luckily, it didn't rain, but Jayna suggested we could shoot at Finnegan's Wake. Finnegan's is an Irish pub and Nathan's favortie place to hang out. They have spent many hours together hanging with friends and getting to know each other in this pub. Turns out it was an awesome spot for pictures! I love the relaxed vibe of the pub pictures.
To get a better idea of their love story, I asked Jayna to share how the met....
"Nathan and I have actually distantly known each other our entire lives. Before we were even born, his stepmother, Sandy, lived in my hometown and became friends with my parents. After returning to the town of her roots and marrying Nathan's father, our families remained friends. We didn't visit often, but I remember traveling to see their family as a young child, and their visits to our house."
Fast forward 20 years, through college and several moves around the U.S., and I had accepted a job back in the midwest to be closer to my family. On the same weekend that I went to explore the new position and ultimately accept it, my parents attended Nathan's sister's wedding reception. Upon my arrival back on the east coast, my mom messaged me that she "had met my future husband" at the reception (little did we all know... :)). After my move and some prompting by our mothers (and with a little help from Facebook :)), Nathan and I met for a drink, had our first kiss, and we were together from that day on. I moved to be closer to him about a year later, and he proposed the day before Thanksgiving, in our kitchen, so we could celebrate with our families during the holiday."
Nathan and Jayna were married in St. Joesph's Catholic Church in Springfield, MO and then continued their festivities at the Wellington Place. Their wedding was classic and elegant. Every detail was perfectly suited to their relationship and personalities. Nathan is a cartographer, note the homemade maps in their decor and invitations :) Wishing you a lifetime of happiness! XOXO

Nathan and Jayna opted to see each other before the ceremony to read their written vows to each other. Their words were so sweet and heartfelt.

The church was exquisite!
