Kayce and Josh said “I do” on a gorgeous private farm in Kansas. I am so honored to get to know this sweet family. As we were driving the gravel roads further into the country, I knew this was going to be a picturesque day, not a cloud in the sky. We started the day getting ready and Kayce and Josh exchanged love notes expressing how happy this day was finally here! The Neilsen’s said their vows by the lake at sunset with their friends, family, and son, Gabe, looking on. Their were several happy tears that day as years of dating had finally lead them to their wedding day.

We had the most gorgeous sunset that evening and were able to take advantage of all the beauty around the farm. Their reception was held at the barn also located on the farm. Guests enjoyed dinner, cake, and writing notes to the bride and groom. Their party made several heart felt speeches and reminisced about the good ole days. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Neilsen! So happy for you and best wishes for your happily ever after :)

What can I say, I love barefoot backyard weddings. I adore these types of affairs where close friends and family gather to celebrate two people starting their lives together. Cori & Julie’s wedding was just that and absolute perfection. Their wedding was held at their families ranch outside of Jeff City. They were married at sunset by the lake and passed the evening by under a twinkle light tent. What I loved most about this wedding was all the personal touches from the lace gloves, antique rings, teardrop tats, fire dancers, and those red maracas! This wedding day was laid back and enjoyed by all.

Their reception kicked off with fireworks and fire dancing! It was incredible and some of the coolest entertainment I have ever seen at a wedding. I felt like I was in Tahiti which was planned, as they almost eloped before planning their backyard wedding.

Congrats Eric & Savannah! What a beautiful day it was for a wedding at Shawnee Bluff Vineyard. Eric and Savannah are so great together, their friends and family were so happy to see them make it official. The wedding day was very relaxed, Savannah met Eric in the vineyards for a first look prior to the ceremony. I loved their happy and surprised faces! Their ceremony overlooked the vineyards; it was a gorgeous spot. Their sweet little flower girl, Lexi, walked down the isle telling guests that the bride was coming! She was the cutest! I especially love the shot my second shooter captured of the ring bearer praying during the ceremony.

After the ceremony, Eric and Savannah greeted guests and started dinner with toasts followed by cake and dancing. So happy these two found each other and get to spend the rest of their lives together. Best wishes Mr & Mrs Sommers, so happy to document your day :)

I feel like I say this all the time, but there is nothing better in my book than a backyard wedding. Congrats to Jacob & Lauran, I simply adored everything about your wedding day! When I first met Lauren and her mom I was very excited to see how everything would come together. Lauren has the coolest personal style, and I knew she would have many personal details added to her wedding. Their day had a flair of vintage and eclectic pieces, but what I loved most was the New Orleans emphasis. They used bright and colorful linens, flowers, and had a full buffet of crawfish, jamabalaya, and muffalettas! Their wedding was held at Lauran’s parents home. It is beautiful and exactly the kind of home I love; gorgeous landscaping and a cozy wrap around porch. They built a beautiful dock and arbor over the lake where their wedding was held. Jacob saw Lauren for the first time that day when she walked down to the arbor. The two wrote their own vows which were very sweet and lead to a few tears for all.

Their reception was held in the backyard in a colorful decorated tent. Jacob & Lauran celebrated their marriage by kicking off the evening with toasts and dinner. The buffet table was made out of re-purposed pallets, succulents, and even an old tire; one of the neatest buffet tables I have never seen. The dancing was kicked off with their first dance which was a folk tune they really boogied too. After sunset we went back to the pond for an evening boat ride. They had many floating candles on the pond and even a trail of flowers behind the boat. It made for some gorgeous pictures! The rest of the evening was spent enjoying the moonlight, socializing with guests, and dancing with the crowd. Best wishes Jacob & Lauran, so happy I was able to capture your day!

Beautiful wedding photography, however, Gary did not do any of the florals, he brought plants and specialty baskets from the nursery I, myself, did all the bouquets, boutonnieres and florals. The table decorations were designed and constructed by myself, however, I had assistance in assimbling them and applying final touches the day before by friends of the family.again, I want to compliment you on your photography great poses and wonderful composition, not just this event but the others in your blog, also!

Congrats James & Nichole! I loved every minute of your wedding on the family farm. I adore intimate backyard affairs; they are so personal. I can just imagine how much work went into this wedding. Almost every sign and decoration was handmade. When Nichole and I started talking about her wedding last year, she wanted it to be rustic and a perfect representation of their style. So many cute details including wildflower bouquets, wine barrel guest table, old fashioned twinkle lights, “birthday” wedding cake, and, s’mores for guests to enjoy. One of my favorite details was the heart patch on the back of Nichole’s dress. Each piece of fabric represents a loved one that passed away. They were married in the middle of a mowed hay field and their reception was held in their barn.

James and Nichole did a first look before the wedding. It was so sweet! Down the road from the farm, is a historic covered bridge we visited for photos. After the wedding, the party toasted and started dancing. We were able to catch the last few minutes of sunset. Congrats Mr & Mrs Sheets! So happy I was able to be apart of your wedding day!
