I just can’t say enough about this sweet couple. Congrats Sarah and Codi! I am always a little sad when weddings are over; but I am so happy these two get to spend the rest of their lives together. I have gotten to know Sarah and Codi over the last several months and they are absolutely wonderful people. I wish them a long and happy life together.

When I first started chatting with Sarah about their day, I fell in love with her little white church wedding. I am so happy they had has photograph and film their wedding! You can also see their highlight film below! They held their ceremony in a small country church right outside of town surrounded by family and close friends. I can’t get over how beautiful all the floral decorations were….swoon! Sarah added so many personal touches to her wedding day.I loved her fur shrug that was fastened by her Grandma’s broche. Codi and Sarah opted for a first look, Codi seemed very happy with his gift :) After the wedding, were took some shots in Sarah’s Dads car. It was a neat classic car!

They held their reception at the family farm. We were able to walk around the farm and catch the sun going down for the evening. I love this time of the year. They toasted, danced, and socialized with their guests. It was a good time had by all! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your day! Congrats Mr & Mrs Montgomery.

The Workshop – A Day Of Learning Photography

I am so excited about this workshop! It was one of the first things I wanted to offer once I moved and settled into the new studio. A couple years ago, I taught at class in Rolla at a local college. I have had several of you asking if there would ever be another class and about shadowing opportunities. Here it is! June 28th from 9am-4pm at our studio in Jefferson City. We have limited seats so it will be a small group. The workshop is $175 per person.

This class will be a little different and I have lots of new material to share. I am making it hands on and you will be able to shadow and shoot with me in the afternoon. We will start out the morning discussing basics, lighting, and posing. In the afternoon, we will go on location to a styled shoot with a model. You will be able to use the images for personal and professional use with a model release. This class is open to any and all skill levels. We will do a basics refresher in the morning and move onto advanced material throughout the day. Each participant will receive a flash drive with class materials. I suggest bringing your equipment, user manual, and something to take notes.

In efforts to make sure you get the most out of this workshop, each participant can choose a topic they want to learn more about. I am going to set aside time to discuss each topic with the group. Spring is definitely one of my favorite times of the year. I am always antsy to get out and shoot in the beautiful cool weather. This year, I have been blessed with several spring weddings! I am so excited this season is packed full with amazing couples. My first wedding of 2014 was Jessica and Dave’s. Their wedding day was wonderful. It was extra special that they included Natalie, their daughter, into all the festivities to signify the beginning of their new family. We started the day at Jessica and Dave’s new home. I love shooting getting ready photos in a couples home. We get to include unique and personal elements in the getting ready photos, not to mention everyone has a laid back vibe. The girls always hurry around to finalize their hair and make-up, while the guys enjoy a basketball game and drink a beer. Typical :)

Jessica and Dave held their ceremony and reception at the Oak Meadow Country Club in Rolla, Missouri. They had their first look on the golf course. Natalie joined us for some family photos and to also show off her dress! Dave sure does have two pretty ladies in his life! After their ceremony, the were congratulated by all their friends and family. They toasted and danced for their first time together. The remainder of the evening was spent jamming to their live band, Alderwood. It was so fun to watch all the kiddos dance the night away. Congrats Jessica and Dave, thanks for allowing me to be apart of your day!

Welcome Class of 2015!

Editorial Shoots, Seniors 4 . 2 . 14

I am so excited to be kicking off the year with an amazing editorial shoot with our 2015 senior models! This group of girls have won my heart. They are sweet, gorgeous, and so much fun! We have seven models this year representing Jefferson City High, Helias, Southern Boone, Rock Bridge, and Tolton High School. When I started coming up with ideas for this shoot, I wanted to do something with an editorial flare. We decided to do two different looks. One downtown Jefferson City and then something unique.

When riding my bike one evening, I saw that one our neighbors had a neat vintage VW bus and truck. I fell in love with that idea. Big thanks to Joe Raithel for allowing us to use his property for our VW shoot. Catherine Crum the Salon styled all of our girl’s hair and make-up. They always do an amazing job and will be offering our seniors the option to add on hair and make-up to any session this year. River City Florist also provided gorgeous floral crowns, petals, and other arrangements for this shoot. I am so grateful to be around wonderful and creative people!

We are officially booking 2015 seniors for the fall and summer. Last year, we booked several months out. This year, I am bringing on an associate photographer, Janelle Harris. There will be two of us shooting seniors this year! She has been second shooting weddings with my studio for two years now. She is wonderful and loves photographing seniors as much as I do. Michael & Meghan – Jefferson City, Missouri

I am so happy we have made it to the Spring months. Sessions have started to pick up again with the nice weather, and I get to work with my Fall wedding couples! Michael and Meghan met in law school at Mizzou. She had been eyeing him up and they finally connected while out on the town one evening. After graduation, they both started working in the Capitol City and will hold their wedding here this Fall. They are a seriously cute couple! Meghan is spunky and energetic, I think we should be BFF’s! Michael is kind and adores his future wife. The brought along their darling little pooch, Bella, for some family pictures.

We decided to start their engagement session at the Capitol since Meghan works there. After we toured around the property and downtown Jefferson City, we headed out to the river access. It is a spot I have been wanting to shoot at for a while. We walked some of the trails and found a rocky peninsula into the river to catch the glow of sunset. I enjoyed spending my Saturday evening with such an awesome couple! Can’t wait for October!
