A little something different from the normal. I’ve photographed family portraits for years, but always felt something was missing and really focused my career on weddings and high school seniors. This past year having a newborn and now an active baby, I have been inspired to start going down a familiar but different path. Last fall, I started documenting our daughter in our home and decided this is how I want to watch her grow. I want her to be a kid when the camera comes out. No fakes smiles, no pressure, no perfect outfits. I want to document her baking in the kitchen, playing with her toys, experiencing new wonders outdoors, and giggling with my husband. I want to document childhood unplugged. So we can remember these brief chapters in life where the house wasn’t perfectly clean and we weren’t extremely rested to really soak in every moment.
If you walk into this sweet families home you are guaranteed to smell something baking and kids being kids. Alyssa is an awesome mom! I hope I am half the mother she is one day. She always has fun days planned for her kiddos that involve crafts, cooking, and most important, sunshine!
Thanks for letting me drop in on the fun :)
