It seems like just yesterday I was watching these two say “I Do” through a lens, now they are getting ready to welcome baby C to the world! I was so happy to get to go back to their farm where it all started. How about Aly’s dress?! She was glowing and gorgeous in her plum gown. Congrats to you two, loved spending time again together! Can’t wait to hear the gender, I am going to jump on the girl bandwagon ;)
I am so excited to work with Dan and Erika this fall at their wedding in Minneapolis! These two are quite the pair, Erika always has a smile on her face when Dan is around. You can tell they light up each other’s world. Oh, lets not forget, Murphy, their first born fur child! Murph seemed to enjoy this photo session running through the woods, smelling bunny trails, and snacking on a Chewnola. We decided to shoot at Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, Missouri. Big Cedar Lodge is gorgeous, Nick and I stayed there a few years ago and really enjoyed the area and activities. I fell in love with the little white chapel that sits on the hill, I must return one day to shoot a wedding there :)

Back to blogging and it feels so good! This winter has been a busy one, looking forward to sharing what I have been up to for the last couple of months very soon! We have had so many sunny and warm days this winter, it worked out great to photograph our senior models one last time before they graduate in May. I adore each and every one of these ladies and I can’t wait to see where life takes them. We decided to have a little bonfire down at the river access…. I love how this shoot turned out!

One more wedding to photograph in 2015, I am a little sad to see this year come to an end. I am so thankful for all the couples, families, and milestones I have been able to document this year. Dustin and Madeleine’s wedding was a day I have been looking forward too since we first started talking details. First off, the two are amazing people and have wonderful, supportive families standing behind them. When I am around their family, I feel like part of the tribe. Madeleine first told me about Wildwood Springs Lodge when they were wedding planning. It is a venue not too far from my hometown, but I have never photographed a wedding at this location. Wildwood is a lodge that was built in the 1920’s. It is off the beaten path nestled back in the woods. The guest houses have beautiful views of the river and farmland. The lodge itself has cozy porches and that old charm and character we all love in old houses. It feels like time has stood still in that neck of the woods and it was the perfect location for their wedding.
Dustin and Madeline’s ceremony was held at nightfall at the lodge. Thousands of twinkle lights surrounded them as they made their marriage official in front of friends and family. Prior to the ceremony, to two got ready in separate cottages to prepare for their first look and sunset photos. They had their first look under the old stone arch and deck that overlooked the river. You could say Dustin was a little happy to see his beautiful wife! Madeleine’s dress was to die for! Love all those light and fluffy layers! The property has several neat old buildings to photograph around so their were many awesome places for pictures. I also loved the covered porch off of the bridal cottage!
The colors and style of this day felt like an Irish wedding. I loved the dark olive greens, sweaters, owl feathers, and Dustin’s corduroy jacket. The lodge was decorated with gorgeous fall decor, and the entire space with lit by twinkle lights. It was also very nice that the Lodge can be rented for the entire weekend so all guests stayed on site. Their reception was kicked off with dinner and home brew that Dustin specially made for the wedding. Dancing and lots of great music from the live band, MadBeats, followed. It is safe to say this is a wedding we won’t soon forget, Congrats Dustin and Madeleine! We wish you many years of happiness! XOXO
