How sweet are these two!?! I was so happy to to join Tracy and Sam at their vacation home at the Lake of the Ozarks this fall for their engagement session. It was a gorgeous day and an amazing location. Their home sits back in one of the coves at the Lake so it is very quite and serene. The two enjoy boating and relaxing at the lake on weekends so this was the perfect location to shoot their session. It was great working with you two; congrats again on your upcoming wedding!
Ted and Lynette’s love story began in Columbia while they were both attending Mizzou. It is kind of a funny story, they had mutual friends for several years but never really noticed each other. Ted finally asked out Lynette on a date after a couple of years. They obviously clicked and the rest is history. The two now reside in Kansas City, but wanted to photograph their engagement shoot in the city where it all began. This was my first time meeting these two and after about 10 minutes I felt I had know them for years. They are an awesome couple and adore each other. I am so happy they connected and get to spend the rest of their lives together.
We began our shoot at Capen Park in Columbia as it is incredibly beautiful this time of year. Looking off the bluff at all the glorious colors is quite magical on a foggy Missouri morning. Then, we headed downtown Columbia to recreate their first date which began at RagTag Cinema. After they watched a movie, they went to Hot Box Cookies! The two dined on chocolate chip cookies and milk with two straws :) This was such a fun engagement shoot and I hope it brought back lots of sweet memories from that first date! Can’t wait for spring!
I can’t wait for these two to get married next year! Lauren and Devin have been dating for several years and are looking forward to tying the knot in the spring of next year. We shot their session downtown Jefferson City and the River access. We shot until the sun set below the trees; I later found out that there was an eclipse that night, it made the sky a brilliant pink. They are such a fun and bubbly couple, a perfect match. Looking forward to next year!
Warm sunshine early on a Saturday morning with the scent of fresh fruits and veggies in the air; nothing says summer like a Farmer’s Market. Oye! I am so happy to share this engagement session! Tony and Karen are the perfect couple; I adore them. We are so excited to photograph and film their wedding in North Carolina next year! Tony and Karen attended the same small country school, yet never really knew each other. Five years ago, Karen went to a party at Tony’s house which promoted their first conversation and eventually lead to their first date. Tony proposed at the Trans Siberian Orchestra in Kansas City, which was also one of their first dates, surrounded by family and friends. They have so much history together between their families. Tony’s dad married Karen’s parents 26 years ago and will marry Tony & Karen on the beach next year.
They choose the Farmer’s Market Downtown Warrensburg, as it was a spot they have been visiting since they were little, for their engagement pictures. It is not only a familiar spot, but something they have always loved about their hometown. Since Tony is in the military, they are unsure where they will travel and live, but these images will remain a reminder of a piece of home. After they picked up some fresh fruit and veggies at the market, we strolled through downtown. We stopped in at one of their favorite cafes, The Blackadder. They hadn’t opened for lunch yet, but it smelled amazing in there! I can’t to go back and visit; thanks for a great morning Karen & Tony!
I am so excited for Josh and Katherine’s wedding this fall! Congrats you two! We met up at the Reed Memorial Wildlife Area in Lee Summit for their engagement pictures. This conservation ground is absolutely beautiful; I can’t wait to visit again. They have dozens of lakes and paths through the forest. They brought along their sweet son, Gabriel. He is such a happy and energetic little guy. He loves to fish; luckily had his fishing pole with him. I love the father-son moment we were able to capture. Looking forward to September!
