Phew, my heart pumps just thinking about this one! I began talking with Jay back in the summer about how he was waiting for the perfect day to surprise his long time girlfriend, Kayla, with a proposal. Jay is a pilot and he came up with the idea to propose in air. This wasn’t going to be just any proposal, he was going to stage an in-flight engine failure on their way to Chicago for a romantic weekend. Kayla would have to follow a list of emergency procedures and eventually find her gorgeous yellow diamond in the emergency pack in the plane. Jay had this planned out perfectly, he even got the FAA to play along and guide him back to the Jefferson City airport for an emergency landing. What Kayla didn’t know was that her friends and family were listening on the in-flight radio as Jay popped the question. I think she was in shock for a few minutes as she realized there wasn’t anything wrong with the plane, this was all planned! When they arrived back at the airport Kayla and Jay were greeted by all their loved ones.  I was there waiting with the camera to capture those moments as they unfolded. The best part, Jay installed a Go Pro in the dash of the plane! You can watch their whole trip and proposal on the video below.
